The marked improvement in quality of life has led to an increase in the aging population, while modern lifestyles have created an unfavorable environment for personal health care, leading to problems such as stress, obesity and adult diseases (chronic diseases).

In fact, the demand for functional foods suitable for age, profession and symptoms is increasing. SSBIOPHARM Co., Ltd. is constantly researching to come up with a response strategy suitable for the trend of the times, focusing on developing new raw materials to meet the needs of consumers. In addition, SSBIOPHARM also aims to become a typical model in the biological industry, not only by building perfect support capacity through cooperation projects between enterprises – universities – research institutes – state agencies, but also by making transparent, reasonable decisions and optimizing corporate governance.

2021

In 2021, the company expanded the export of functional foods to China, registered many new patents and won prestigious awards such as SsoPalMax for Men Health Protection Food and Typical Brand trusted by Korean consumers.

2020

The company continued to affirm its position by registering a patent for the production of optimal maca extract, participating in many national R&D projects, and receiving the Exemplary Labor and Exemplary Taxpayer awards. The company was also honored at the Chungcheong Regional University-Institute-Enterprise Cooperation Conference and registered new trademarks.

2019

The company completed the construction of an ultrasonic extraction line, participated in the economic delegation accompanying the President of South Korea, and signed contracts worth tens of millions of dollars in Malaysia and Dubai. This was also the year the company registered many new patents, received the National Technology Assessment Certificate of Excellence, the Chungcheongnam Province Entrepreneur Award, and the “1 Million USD Export Tower” Award.

2018

The company moved its headquarters to Cheonan, registered its health food business, and obtained the Inno-Biz certification for technological innovation enterprises. In 2018, the company participated in the value-added food technology development project, and obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Halal certification for three export products. At the same time, the company won the National Productivity Award and registered a new patent for black ginseng and flower buds.

2017

The company has succeeded in spray drying 100% maca extract powder, registered a new patent and obtained GMP certification. At the same time, it expanded R&D cooperation with Wonkwang University, signed business and export agreements to Vietnam, India, and China. This year, the company was selected to participate in export support programs, received a certificate of merit from Congressman Park Sung-joong and the Excellent Startup Award.

2016

The company made its mark with a series of new patents on natokinase, maca extract and silk degradation technology. The factory in Cheonan was completed and licensed for professional production, while expanding its functional food product portfolio. The company also strengthened research cooperation with Wonkwang University, Maen Clinic and signed a contract to supply aquatic raw materials. As a result, export sales reached 750,000 USD/year, confirming a breakthrough step.

2015

The company completed the construction of its Cheonan factory, obtained a professional manufacturing license, and expanded its range of health food products. This was also the year the company registered many important patents on natokinase, maca extract, and silk degradation technology. At the same time, the company promoted R&D cooperation with Wonkwang University, Maen Clinic, and the Goheung Fisheries Association. As a result, export sales reached 750,000 USD/year, confirming a breakthrough.

2014

SSBIOPHARM started by registering trademarks in China and Vietnam and signing a general agent contract through SSBIOPHARM VINA CO., LTD. The company quickly completed export procedures, achieved ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification, and expanded its operations by moving headquarters, establishing a research institute, and registering patents. On the development journey, SSBIOPHARM transformed into an agricultural company, increased its charter capital, and was honored to receive the Korean Creative Intellectual Talent Award.

2013

SSBIOPHARM was officially established, laying the foundation for the development journey in the field of research and business of health care products.
